The Birmingham Voluntary Service Council (BVSC) is running a series of Trustee Training Workshops this Autumn, followed by a Mingling and Matching Evening in Trustees' Week itself.

Workshop 1: The Role of the Charitable Board

When: 16 Oct 2013 - 18:00 to 20:00
Where: Brewin Dolphin, 9 Colmore Row Birmingham B3 2BJ
Tracey O'Brien, Director of Policy & Programmes BVSC will lead the evening as we ask what is a charity, what legal structures can they take, what is the Board and what is its role?
There will be opportunities for interaction and to put the teaching into practice.

Workshop 2: The Board in Action

When: 23 Oct 2013 - 18:00 to 20:00
Where: Brewin Dolphin, 9 Colmore Row Birmingham B3 2BJ
David Oxtoby from Synthesis Network will lead this interactive session as we break down into groups to tackle real-life situations that you may face as a charitable trustee. An opportunity to ask questions and explore different ways of dealing with leadership issues and strategic challenges.

Workshop 3: An Effective Board

When: 30 Oct 2013 - 18:00 to 20:00

To complete our series, we welcome Karl George MBE to help us examine the characteristics of an effective board and the individual qualities required to negotiate challenges effectively.
