CVS Cheshire East Trustees' Week event - Wilmslow

This event is primarily for trustees of registered charities, or for anyone considering becoming a trustee.

Guest speaker – David Bratt, Peak & Northern Footpaths Society
In his time as chairman of Peak & Northern Footpaths Society David transformed a charity which was struggling for survival into anactive and business-like organisation. In doing so he encountered many of the issues which will be familiar to charity trustees, such as declining membership, poor communications, antiquated systems, and financial worries. We believe that David’s account of his approach to these and other problems will be both interesting and entertaining and will provide a useful case study for other trustees.

Trustees are the people in charge of a charity. They play a vital role, volunteering their time and working together to make important decisions about the charity's work. Trustees' Week is an annual event to showcase the great work that trustees do and highlight opportunities for people from all walks of life to get involved and make a difference. Trustees’ Week 2015 is 2–8 November, and is being officially launched at the NCVO / BWB Trustee Conference on 2 November 2015.
