Being a trustee of a school

Useful information from The School Governor's One Stop Shop:

School Governance is a unique volunteering opportunity, combining chances to help give children the best possible start in life with developing valuable interpersonal and technical skills. In schools that have recently converted to Academy status and in Foundation schools, both of which employ the staff and set the admissions criteria, governors are also trustees. School Governors’ One-Stop Shop is a small charity that recruits governor volunteers and helps find them suitable placements working across England and in partnership with Local Authorities and schools themselves.
