Castlepoint Association of Voluntary Services Trustees’ Week event saw local community groups interacting with each other and sharing information, skills and experience. Attendees were given a good overview of CAVS and the services it provides around volunteers and other support systems.
The event not only raised awareness of the CAVS but also of the need for charity trustees. One very positive outcome was that all attendees agreed they would consider becoming a trustee and all requested more information about trusteeship.
Trustees are the people in charge of a charity. They play a vital role, volunteering their time and working together to make important decisions about the charity's work. Trustees' Week is an annual event to showcase the great work that trustees do and highlight opportunities for people from all walks of life to get involved and make a difference. Trustees’ Week 2015 is 2–8 November, and is being officially launched at the NCVO / BWB Trustee Conference on 2 November 2015.
