Jeffery Ng is a trustee of Nucleus Earl's Court Community Action, a legal charity that provides advice on issues such as immigration and housing to those who cannot afford to pay for it. He is also a former trustee of Reach Volunteering and became involved in both by chance when he saw an advert for Reach Volunteering six years ago. Having put him in touch with Nucleus, Reach then asked him to become a trustee as well.
Since Trustees’ Week 2010, Jeffrey believes that the challenges facing many charities have increased due the economic problems and that the role of a trustee is now even more essential.
He says: “An experienced and passionate Trustee can make a significant contribution to a charity. It is essential that talented people have the opportunity to understand the contribution they can really make to the non-profit making sector.”
